At TDC we are capable of reliably and efficiently tuning Honda, Nissan, Mazda, Toyota, and Mitsubishi 2wd applications reliably and efficiently. Our tunes are custom tailored to the customer’s goals and applications. Most new customers don’t realize that tuning for power (a.k.a WOT Parameters) can actually be the most straight forward aspect of tuning and that tuning idle and partial throttle conditions can actually be the most time consuming depending on the level of modification. One of the main reasons is 02 feedback and ignition tuning. As you may know, when 02 feedback is enabled, the stock ECU ignores the fuel values in the tune and controls the fuel under partial throttle conditions by itself. Unlike the majority of other performance shops, we disable O2 sensor feedback and custom tune the idle and partial throttle sections of the ignition and fuel map which can contain more than 8-12 times the amount of tunable cells and parameters than WOT conditions depending on the application and tuning software used. Only after your setup is completely tuned and temperature compensation tables are tuned do we enable 02 sensor feedback. There a number of reasons for this approach to tuning and one of the most important from the customer’s point of view is safety and reliability. If a wideband(s) faults, the rings can be washed out, there can be fuel contamination in the oil system and even corrosion of main/rod bearings and valve train components depending on the level of contamination and miles driven. Depending on the modifications, there can also be an opposite effect such as lean conditions/knock which we all know what that can lead to. This is why we place so much emphasis on idle and partial throttle parameters in addition to WOT parameters.
In cases where wild cams are present, custom tuning with no O2 feedback at idle is necessary to greatly reduce or eliminate the extreme rich conditions experienced with these cams. Generally, 02 feedback must be turned off with wild cams even after tuning is completed in order to keep the stock ECU from idling dumb rich again. You will constantly hear that it’s normal for such cams to idle dumb rich…….. Even though you may hear that from other individuals and tuning shops, don’t be fooled, it’s not safe and you shouldn’t have to deal with it. At TDC, we are perfectly capable of tuning out those dumb rich conditions at idle.
Yes, tuning partial throttle in addition to WOT parameters is time consuming and that is exactly why our tuning rates are flat regardless of whether your setup requires 3 or even 8 hours. We believe this to be fair and just to our customers which to us is equally important. Customers also appreciate us taking our time as well with their setup and even more so with Forced Induction applications in which heat soak becomes a greater factor and greater cool down periods must be experienced between runs. Only after each setup is custom tuned to the customer’s goals and application do we perform several heat soaked runs to adjust and tune the temperature compensation tables associated with engine coolant and intake air temperatures. Doing so, assures the each customer will have as consistent and reliable of a tune as possible with the added benefit of not having to worry about additional costs from an hourly rate..

$350 Flat Rate - Aftermarket Map/MAF Sensor add $100
- Hondata K-Pro, FlashPro(includes tuning of the multiple cam angle maps)
$375 Flat Rate - Aftermarket Map/MAF Sensor add $100
- AEM EMS,MAP-ECU, Megasquirt, PowerFC (L & D-jetro),Haltech, Motec, Unichip
$449 Flat Rate - Supercharged/Turbo add $100
- SAFC, VAFC, Neo
$200 Flat Rate
- Re-Tune
Re-tune for existing customers:
$100 covers first hour. Re-tune rates only applies to vehicles with "same cams, supercharger or turbo" that has changed a bolt on part(s) or would like more boost or nitrous. If the cams, turbo or supercharger itself is changed then it will be considered a completely new tune and the standard tuning rate will apply as a result. The re-tune rate will not exceed half of the original cost of the tune no matter how long it takes. We believe this to be fair and just to our customers as well as us.

When you bring your car to TDC for tuning, rest assured that you will be getting the best that the tuning community has to offer. Not only do we focus on full throttle, high horse power tuning, but we also spend the time needed to make sure your vehicle runs smoothly and idles like stock. Partial throttle tuning is a commonly over looked part of the tuning process, but the tuning staff at TDC beleives that a properly tuned car can serve as a Track car and a daily driver.
